My parents recently celebrated their 38th anniversary.
38 YEARS!!
Sounds like a death sentence to me, but it is funny how two completely opposite characters have managed to get along for so many years. I'm glad they did though; I know such marriages are rare these days.
Anyway they decided to go away for a couple of days. One would think they would choose a romantic beach resort or something of the like to commemorate the occasion.
Instead, I get a phone call from my mum going something like this:
Me : Where are you guys?
Mum : We're in Johor.
Me : Johor??!!! How in the world did you get there?!
Mum : We drove la...how else? We took the coastal road and had a lot of fun passing through villages!
Me : ????
That was their idea of a romantic getaway, driving down to Johor on bumpy, uneven, UNSAFE coastal roads just so they could pass through some kampungs !! But that's my parents, alright.
Anyway, my sis and I decided to make them something special when they came home. So, we rummaged the pile of recipes my mum collected over the years and decided to make this.
I know it doesn't look very appetizing and frankly it didn't taste palatable either. But not bad for an amateur, right?
RIGHT?
